Lightness of heart, hardness of mind - a poem.

Because I left you by the sea-side boulevard

with nothing but a night of embraces

with a cold phone call left you hanging

after refusing to follow your traces

Because Thailand was too far and so was Knoxville

and your hair club proved quite annoying

and of short skirts I ran out

after a day of football in Gainesville

Because your picture of angel well faded

when your attitude gained a few pounds

and spooning can rather get old

when you want to go a second round

For a marriage is no open house

and from bliss you needed ‘a break’

you may remember me as ‘rojita’, heartbreaker

The cool, feisty one who got away.
